Music Producer Circles And Ellipses Shares Their New Album ‘Burn:Cycle Reworks’

Fresh on the airwaves is Circles And EllipsesBurn:Cycle Reworks – premiered via Data Transmission.  Originally released in 1994 by both Chris Whitten and BAFTA-nominated British film score composer, conductor, producer and musician Simon Boswell – it was the soundtrack to a video game, Burn:Cycle.

The EP also features an accompanying video for ‘Meltdown‘ shot in the ancient city of Matera, Italy. The video footage works in complete harmony with the track, and wanderlust sets in more and more as the video progresses.

Whitten is well known as a drummer, having played on The Waterboy’s The Whole of the Moon and Paul McCartney’s 1989 album Flowers In The Dirt as well as joining iconic British rock band Dire Straits on their final world tour from 1991-1992. Described as a “cult drum God,” he is certainly no stranger to the ins-and-outs of the music scene.

However, it was his passion for synthesizers that drew him to the world of electronic music. “I’m known as a rock musician, but my first love has always been dance music and electronica. In the mid 1990’s the opportunity came up to submit some music for the rather trippy, futuristic computer game ‘Burn:Cycle‘. So it was the perfect vehicle for me to express my ‘techno’ side. I’m always learning and improving, so when Here and Now Recordings re-released the original game soundtrack in 2018 I offered to revisit some of the original score. It turned into a complete reimagining of four of the tracks, employing modern recording techniques and new sounds created using modular synthesizers and music software.”” he says.

Burn:Cycle Reworks will be released via Here & Now Recordings.
